deCarta's devZone
We just migrated the devZone web services to 4.3.1sp01
Greetings and welcome to deCarta's devZone
Our server platform will allow you to integrate spatial functionality into your application. We provide functionality for mapping, address lookup (geocoding), coordinate to street matching (reverse geocoding), location searching (POI lookup), and routing. Here on the devZone you can start for free developing applications that use either our XML over HTTP web services or our JavaScript API. Once you build your great application and want to start making money, you can either subscribe to our Hosted Web Services or purchase the software to run on your own servers.
Guide for the impatient
- Create an account on the devZone (it's the button right over there on the right that says "Create Account"). Due to some of partner licensing restrictions we need to review you account but you should be good to go in less than 12 hours
- If you are comfortable with JavaScript then please click on the link on the left titled JavaScript. While you are waiting for your devZone approval you can look at the documents and once you have approval the live examples will work. If you like what you see download the client package and edit the configuation file with your Web Services username and password and you are good to go start building you application
- If you prefer XML over HTTP click on the Web services link on the left and start using your favorite programming language, such as Java, .NET, Ruby, Python, or others. You can look at the documentation and once you are approved you can start using the XML tester to send and receive XML for testing. Download the client package for the XML and you can start using the web services right away using your Web Services username and password.
- Got questions? ask them in the forums - don't forget there is a search box on the top for looking for old relevant posts
- The FAQ is a wiki so once you are signed in go ahead and edit and add to knowledge
Have fun and enjoy using our APIs!
