About deCarta
When It Comes To Location, deCarta Means Business
deCarta, formally Telcontar, was founded in 1996. Headquartered in San Jose, CA, deCarta's geospatial software platform powers today's most successful Location-Based Services (LBS) applications such as those deployed by Ask.com, Qualcomm, Hotels.com, Verizon, Sprint and many others.
In an exponentially growing global LBS marketplace, deCarta’s best-of-breed software platform gives LBS providers and application developers for Internet, mobile, personal navigation and enterprise markets the unique ability to quickly and easily integrate digital maps, database content and dynamic data drawn from multiple sources for fast and accurate access to the user.
Our ability to ingest, compress and optimize data for geospatial functions is virtually unmatched in the industry. And deCarta’s patented solutions are source-, platform-, and device-independent and highly scalable. Each attribute on its own is a competitive advantage for our customers. But combined, deCarta stands uniquely enabled and positioned to provide the best technology in today’s market, delivering to our customers tremendous flexibility, utility and unparalleled performance. This sets us broadly apart from our competition and is valued by our customers.
The company's non-branded software platform allows our customers the uncommon capability to customize their mapping application to their own desired unique look and feel. As a result, they can build and enhance their own brand and identity; key marketing elements as businesses vie for increased competitive differentiation and user recognition.
The deCarta platform and services are ideal for high-volume LBS applications where scalability, speed and reliability are vital. From mobile carriers to internet portals, enterprise resource optimization, and personal navigation devices…they’re capabilities we’re proud of, and our customers regard as the keystone for their success.
deCarta's Technology
Industry-Leading Drill Down Server™With deCarta's powerful non-branded Drill Down Server (DDS) geospatial platform, customers can deploy customized applications drawing from a rich supply of mapping, business, dynamic and predictive traffic and other real-time data.
DDS provides all the core features required for location-based applications: routing, mapping, proximity search, geocoding and reverse geocoding. It also features innovative functionality that supports a variety of real-time applications, including social networking, navigation, routing, local search, fleet/workforce management and business intelligence.
DDS provides scalability of up to billions of transactions per month to allow our customers to deliver leading-edge location-based services to meet the demands of any mobile, Internet or enterprise user.
Rich Map EnginedeCarta's Rich Map Engine™ (RME) accesses map data using deCarta's patented Geospatial search keys and is the core routing engine behind Drill Down Server. With field-proven success in a wide variety of applications, RME is ideal for LBS applications requiring superior client-side functionality, (e.g., personal navigation devices, and smart phones).
RME enables the optimal organization of geo/spatial data, calculation of the best route, including support for user-defined route costs and feature navigability , as well as multi-modal routing (e.g., pedestrian, ferry, toll roads). It allows real-time integration of map information with GPS to determine position, and has the ability to dynamically edit, customize, and download maps wirelessly.
NavSDKdeCarta's Navigation SDK is a software developer's environment that enables easier and efficient development of a customized navigation system for portable navigation devices (PNDs).
The NavSDK provides an Application Programming Interface (API) for accessing all of the required basic functions needed for the creation of a navigation application, thereby reducing development time, which results in overall reduced time to market.
The use of the NavSDK also ensures the compatibility of the navigation application with new releases of the underlying route engine. In addition, the NavSDK provides developers with a uniform data model that enables the use of map data from multiple and different vendors with minimal or no impact to the application. The NavSDK includes the deCarta Rich Map Engine (RME), which is the underlying technology deployed by many of today's leading Internet and navigation solution providers. |
